This ancient symbol from Scandinavia is found carved on Runestones. Though it's original name and meaning is unknown it's location, near images of Ođin and Valkyries, lead many to believe it has a strong link to the god and those fallen in battle, that are chosen to enter Valhalla. This has lead to it's modern name Valknut, meaning 'knot of the fallen'.

To many modern pagans, and followers of Asatru, it has a strong association with Ođin and those he picks to join his warband
